Book Review: Girl Bible/Boy Bible

Guest reviews by my kids!  Swim Chick was given the new NVL faithGirlz! Bible.  Chess Master was given the NVL Boys Bible.  I asked them what they liked or didn't like about their new bibles. Thank you kids for your honest review. We received both bibles from B&B Media Group in exchange for an honest review.

Swim Chick's Review: I like the cover.  I liked that I could follow along in church too.

I had to pry this out of her!  Thanks for the honest review honey!!!!

Chess Master's Review: (after some coaxing, here is what my 9 year old wrote...)
I love the grossology.  I like it when it shows you who wrote the story.  I love the way the cover looks.

My Review:  I love both of these bibles!  They are similar yet different.  Both bibles have a HOW TO USE THIS BIBLE section at the beginning.  The Boys Bible has Book Introductions that tell us who the author is, the setting and background.  I like this, it is very informative!  There are WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL? sections in each chapter, sometimes more than one on a page.  These explain how we are connected.  I really like the MAKIN' IT REAL section where they explain how a story and relate to my son today, even though it happened a long time ago! CHECK IT OUT gives us trivia and facts, WORDS TO LIVE BY are important verses to memorize and our favorite is the GROSSOLOGY!  This section points out the bugs, snakes, and gross stuff that God didn't leave out!

The faithGirlz! bible is similar in that they have the chapter introductions, the memory verses, and the trivia sections. What I LOVE about this bible is the OH, I GET IT, DREAM GIRL, IS THERE A LITTLE ______, and IN YOUR OWN WORDS sections!  All of these personalize the bible and give a understanding of how we all fit.  IN YOUR OWN WORDS, you have space to write in the book and create a list of events.  Cool!

I really am excited to see my kids enjoying the bible.  I don't know that I had my very own bible until I was 15 or 16.  I am learning along side the kids and it is fun for me!  Thanks again to the B& B Media Group for giving us these great new bibles.

Off N Running,
