Welcome to August!

Where has the year gone?  I am not sure if I ever posted that my goal/word/new year resolution for 2019 is Self Care!  I have not been doing very well with that, so way back in July, I decided, I had better up my aim.  I decided that on 1 August,  I am going to start doing yoga again.  My left knee has been bothering me a lot the past few months.  I noticed that it feels better when I do some stretching.

I want to Thank my California Sister-In-Law, for introducing me to Yoga with Adriene.  I LOVE going to the gym and doing yoga live but with my current job, I don't get to do that so much anymore.  Adriene allows me to do yoga at 4am or 4pm, any day of the week!  She also has some downloadable yoga, so when I go camping this weekend, I can still do yoga.  Woo Hoo!!!!!  Today was my 8th day of yoga.

In 17 days, I am going to be dropping my oldest off at her university.  I have been doing well with that, honestly.  She is so grown up, I am so proud of her and her choices.  I am going to miss her like crazy, but if I did my mom job well, she will return.

In 11 days, my son starts his Junior year of high school fall sports.  He hopes to run cross country and play soccer this fall.  He wants to focus on tennis this winter, to play again next spring.  I am looking for tennis pros to help him out.  (My youngest told me that he was complaining about not being in a club sport like she and the oldest were.  He stated that his athletic career was all washed up.)  Boys?!?!  I guess he is all washed up at age 16.  This also made me think about how I need to be around at home more to guide this poor mis-guided son of mine.  Still time to teach him a few lessons before I send him out into the world.

I am still doing massage at the Wisconsin Athletic Club two days a week.  I celebrated 25 years of being a therapist back in February.  I have been thinking a lot about how much longer I want to do that.  I have not come to any conclusions.  I am still a Resident Aid at a Senior Living community.  I am not loving this job, mostly due to the hours and the other staff.  Some changes have occurred and I am going to ride them out, for now.  God willing I can find a job with better hours for my family life.

Thanks for reading,

AnnMarie

Welcome to day two  of 2019!

How did day one go for you?  I had to work at 6:30am, so I didn't stay up until midnight with my kids.  I was in bed by 10pm on Dec. 31!  I was not prepared to start my Whole 30 off 100% yesterday.  We left town on Dec. 30 for a funeral on the 31, so I didn't get to the grocery like I had planned on either day.  I did have eggs and some W30 approved snacks.  When I got to work, I was put on a different floor than I am usually on, and was running around like crazy to even have time to get bored or want to snack!  So, my day was a success over all.

I did have pork chops in the freezer, so I could try a new Instant Pot recipe from the Whole 30 Slow Cooker cookbook! YUM!!!!  Sorry, I didn't take any photos, but the family loved it!

I also planned ahead and packed a gym bag to stop at the club to use a treadmill!  I ran/walked 1.65 miles in 22 minutes.  Came home to do the "Celebration Circuit" and man do I feel it this morning.  This old body is out of shape!

My kids don't have school today.  I think I want to work on our 19 in 2019 lists, graduation party plans and see where we want to travel on our vacation this summer.  (Last summer, we went out to South Dakota.  Hubby wanted us to plan the trip together, one month before we were to leave, no plans had been made.  We didn't travel as far as we would have liked, stayed at a terrible campground on the fly, and decided we would do better next time.)  I want to see what AAA can do to help us this time around, too.

Wishing you well this new year,
AnnMarie
